Rehab Solar provides solar system troubleshooting throughout San Diego County for homeowners who need help diagnosing a problem with an existing photovoltaic (PV) system.

A solar system includes multiple electrical and electronic components that must work together. When something changes, the cause is not always obvious from the ground or from a monitoring app. Therefore, a site visit helps separate a true equipment problem from a monitoring issue, dirty panels, a wiring concern, or another condition affecting system performance.

Diagnosing Solar Production Problems

Common troubleshooting concerns include systems that stop producing, show irregular production, display inverter errors, or appear to be producing less than expected. Any time your system fails to produce at its peak, it is a missed opportunity to save money.

Potential causes include damaged or broken panels, dirt and debris, a malfunctioning inverter, compromised wiring, or other electrical issues. In addition, unreliable or irregular inverter reporting can create a false alarm or make a real problem harder to recognize. For example, the system may be offline, showing errors, producing unexpectedly, or contributing to an electric bill that does not look normal.
